IFTA is India’s 1st people’s Choice Awards, with an aim to acknowledge and acclaim the versatile talent in the Indian Film, Television, OTT and Music industries.
Team IFTA believes that there is no better judge than the audience. So IFTA gave the voting rights to the ultimate consumers of the content – the viewers. There is no jury or panel involved in making the decision for the winner.
IFTA has a dedicated market research team that works diligently to find the potential list of nominees who then compete to win the particular category. Spread across various categories, the IFTA market research team makes nomination lists based on primary & secondary market research and analysis. These lists are then made public for the audience to vote. The Nominee getting the highest number of votes wins that particular award category.
The Evolution of Singers
India has given the world some legendary female singers in the form of Lata Mangeshkar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Asha Bhosle, and many more. The melodious voices of these singers have given us some iconic songs as well.
In the time of auto-tune, it is very hard to maintain the essence of naturalism nowadays. Singers and music composers use this tool so recklessly that the music gets too adulterated to be true. However, some singers do not need this tool at all and they love being original and natural. Cheers to all those singers and may they keep giving us their unfiltered voices.
And the Winner is …….
She sings classical, modern-day, contemporary, and so on. She is extremely talented and has delivered one iconic song after another. Yes, she is none other than Shreya Ghoshal who ranked on top with 2167 votes for her song Mujhe Pyaar Pyaar Hai from Bhoot Police. The song has a romantic melody with very slow-paced background music. The song also features Armaan Malik’s voice. Both Shreya and Armaan have created a magical tune, which is mostly played on a loop.
At the second position is Asees Kaur with 1333 votes for Raataan Lambiyan from Shershaah. This song is one of the most played songs in the years 2021-22 and has made the country fall in love all over again.
At number three, Jasleen Royal shines with 660 votes for her song Ranjha from Shershaah. Jasleen Royal has a very unique style of singing and there is a lot of innocence that she lends to her voice while recording. She has added her signature style to previous songs as well, such as, Preet from Khoobsurat or Love You Zindagi from Dear Zindagi.
Some Honourable Mentions
Shreya makes a comeback at the fourth position as well for Tere Rang from Atrangi Re. The song has a classical touch and a calming tone and Shreya aces the song with her beautiful voice.
The following runner-ups include Asees Kaur for Marjaawaan, Lothika for Doobey, Priya Saraiya for Kalle Kalle and Yashita Yashpal Sharma for Milaa Yun.
